RCIA/OCIA
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is one of the most honored programs within the history of the Church. Since the time of Christ, millions of people have looked to learn about and join the Church that Jesus himself founded 2000 years ago. We are very privileged to continue this program here in our parish. If you are interested in learning more about the Church and the RCIA program, please contact Monsignor Tucker at (402) 643-3421.

The RCIA is the official program of the whole Catholic Church for welcoming new members and for offering information about the Catholic Church to inquirers. It aims at helping people grow in knowledge, faith and prayer so that they can make a mature and free response to God’s call.
This nine month program of instruction and information about the Catholic Church is intended for those who have never been baptized, baptized in another faith or for those who wish to return to the practice of the faith.
The Rite starts with the INQUIRY PHASE. During this time, persons interested in learning more about God and the Catholic Church are invited to inquire, to ask questions, to begin a study with the assistance of the RCIA team which will help them deepen their own faith and prayer. A second phase of CANDIDACY begins in December, during which time those who are ready to do so express their desire to become full members of the Catholic Church. The Lenten season marks the ELECTION PHASE, which is a period of special spiritual preparation for entry into the Church. At Easter Vigil, candidates are welcomed into the Church. After Easter the MYSTAGOGICAL PHASE takes place during which the new members deepen their understanding of their full membership in the Church.
